Dr. Stephen Spencer, ND, founder of ProTouch Rehabilitation in Deerfield, IL

Health Is More Than One Symptom

Dr. Stephen Spencer founded ProTouch Rehabilitation with one clear belief: real health cannot be understood by looking at one symptom, one joint, one lab marker, or one habit in isolation. His work looks deeper.

For more than two decades, Dr. Stephen Spencer has helped patients explore the connections between structure, movement, nutrition, hormones, digestion, sleep, detoxification, emotional stress, recovery, and long-term performance.

His approach is built for people who feel that something has been missed, people who have tried standard answers, and people who want a practitioner willing to study the full picture before recommending the next step.

At ProTouch Rehabilitation, the goal is not to chase symptoms. The goal is to understand why the body is struggling to organize, recover, move, metabolize, perform, or feel well.

A Whole-Person Approach to Better Health

Dr. Spencer works from the understanding that the body is not a collection of separate parts. Posture can influence breathing. Digestion can affect energy. Hormones can shape mood, recovery, weight, and sleep.

Structural imbalance can change movement patterns, training capacity, and daily comfort. Stress can show up physically. Nutrition can either support healing or quietly work against it.

That is why a ProTouch plan may include Advanced BioStructural Correction, Muscle Activation Techniques, functional wellness review, genetic nutrition, training guidance, detoxification support, hormone discussion, recovery therapies, and lifestyle strategy.

Every patient starts with context:

  • What has happened to your body?
  • What have you already tried?
  • Where do symptoms keep returning?
  • How do you sleep, move, eat, train, recover, and handle stress?
  • What does your body seem to be asking for?

Dr. Spencer’s role is to listen carefully, evaluate intelligently, and help determine which starting point makes the most sense.

Beyond Quick Fixes

Many patients come to ProTouch after years of temporary relief, generic advice, or programs that did not match their body.

Dr. Stephen Spencer’s work is different because it is methodical. He does not assume that pain is only a pain problem. He does not assume that weight resistance is only a willpower problem. He does not assume that fatigue is only an age problem. He looks for patterns, relationships, and obstacles that may be preventing the body from functioning at a higher level.

His process may consider:

Structure & Posture

Structural alignment, posture, and uneven body mechanics.

Movement

Movement quality, compensation patterns, strength, mobility, and athletic performance.

Nutrition & Labs

Nutrition habits, food quality, and functional lab information when appropriate.

Internal Health

Digestion, inflammation, and detoxification stress.

Recovery & Hormones

Sleep, recovery, lifestyle patterns, hormonal changes, and age-related concerns.

Stress & Longevity

Emotional stress, nervous system load, and long-term vitality and prevention.

The result is a more personalized, practical path forward.

Structural Correction at the Center

One of Dr. Stephen Spencer’s primary areas of focus is specialized structural correction, including Advanced BioStructural Correction. This hands-on approach looks at how the body organizes itself structurally, rather than simply focusing on the area that hurts.

Patients may seek structural care for posture concerns, recurring tension, back discomfort, neck strain, movement limitations, breathing mechanics, uneven body mechanics, or the feeling that their body is “stuck” despite other attempts to improve.

Dr. Spencer’s goal is to help patients better understand how structure influences function. When the body is better organized, movement, balance, breathing, recovery, and daily comfort may improve.

Nutrition, Performance, and Longevity

Dr. Stephen Spencer’s background in exercise science, bodybuilding, naturopathy, training, and wellness gives him a rare perspective. He understands the needs of everyday patients, serious athletes, aging adults, and people who want to rebuild their health from the inside out.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Illinois State University and a Doctorate in Naturopathy from Clayton College of Natural Health. He has worked in the health and wellness field since 2002 and has studied with leading coaches, nutritionists, and practitioners throughout his career.

He is also a nationally ranked bodybuilder and has been involved in competitive bodybuilding since 2003. That experience gives him a practical understanding of discipline, nutrition, training, recovery, hormones, body composition, and performance at a level that goes far beyond theory.

Why Patients Choose Dr. Stephen Spencer

Patients often come to Dr. Spencer when they want more than a rushed appointment or generic wellness advice. They want someone who will ask better questions, look at the whole body, understand both pain and performance, and connect structure, nutrition, hormones, digestion, sleep, stress, and recovery into one intelligent plan.

At ProTouch Rehabilitation, patients are not treated like a protocol. They are treated like people with unique histories, unique bodies, and unique goals.

The ProTouch Philosophy

Health is not just the absence of pain. It is the ability to move well, recover well, think clearly, sleep deeply, digest efficiently, train intelligently, age powerfully, and live with confidence in your body.

Dr. Spencer built ProTouch Rehabilitation for people who want to experience that kind of health. His philosophy is natural, investigative, practical, and deeply personal. He believes the body often gives signals long before it breaks down. The work is to understand those signals, support the body intelligently, and help patients build a better foundation for long-term wellness.

A First Visit Starts With Your Story

When you reach out to ProTouch Rehabilitation, the first step is a conversation. Dr. Stephen Spencer wants to understand your history, your symptoms, your goals, and what you are hoping to change.

From there, he can help you decide whether your best starting point is structural correction, functional nutrition, genetic nutrition, training and weight loss support, hormone discussion, detoxification, longevity planning, or another ProTouch service.

There is no pressure. No script. No one-size-fits-all plan. Just a thoughtful starting point for a better version of your health.
